Global Telecentre Alliance (GTA ) in Hungary

There will be a world Telecentre conference in Hungary I read about it in GK3 Malaysia. It is a Global Telecentre Alliance (GTA ) Conference and the 1st General Assembly Hungary, 22nd-25th May 2008. Registration and full board cost range between 215 ( apartment) to 225 (single room) USD.
It is a global discussion of international Telecentre managers, leaders, experts, donors and partners about the real and potential role of Telecentres in local development. On the first day the conference will discuss World Telecentre movement, Telecentre as a government network , Telecentre as a business network, Telecentre as a social network, , problems and solutions of Telecentre and network operation and services. It focus on real and possible role of Telecentres in solving national and global problems (like MDGs). How the Telecentre movement is positioned in donor strategies? Also focus on Telecentre services, business models, financial resources. How the BOP economy can be matched with the Telecentre networks? In addition more discussion about needs, goals, activities and structures of the international Telecentre movement. What works and what does not work? The closing session will be the World Telecentre Declaration
On the second day will be the first General Assembly of the Global Telecentre Alliance and Extending membership, developing strategy and electing representatives of GTA. Finally will be the election of presidency and members of committees.
On the third day an organized country trips to visit Telecentres in Hungary to see an experience of Hungarian Telecentre.
In addition to this the organizers mentioned (Our alliance may provide a financial support
up to 20% of international travel costs for participants from upper middle income countries
up to 40% of international travel costs for participants from lower middle income countries
up to 60% of international travel costs for participants from low income countries *.
The support is available for those who fill in and forward the application form before the 31st of March 2008. Only one person can be supported from each organisation. You will be informed via e-mail about the results until the 7th of April 2008. If you are awarded the support, you are expected to bring the documents proving your transport costs, e.g. airplane ticket, to the conference. The refund will be made after the conference by bank transfer).
