Services offered

Participants examined possible collaborative services that can be offered in the region to energize the eco-system. Those that emerged included;

Technical support

This emerged as a key service. Network leaders unanimously agreed on the introduction of a platform where peer-to-peer consultation can happen especially on technical matters.

Capacity building and training

This was seen as an issue that can be discussed both at National and regional level. For instance smaller issues concerning telecentres at can be discussed at national level and the bigger issues taken to the regional or international level.

Social enterprise

This service focused at having a regional orientation toward financial generation using telecentre eco-system internal abilities. Participants were also interested in having a single service or product developed at regional level but with a remittance system that can work through the eco-system in order to ensure sustainability.

Research

Get into partnership with institutions that handle e-learning initiatives Help understand the number of telecentres in our countries through research and use the effort to effective support the telecentres.

Staff exchange and volunteer engagement

Information brokering through the portal

Creating a regional portal that address content issues within the region.
