First of all, congratulations to you, Sulah and the team there, so also the leaders of African telecentre movement on this important step. I am hopeful that the meeting will result in stronger networks in Africa as witnessed in Asia and Latin America.
I am glad to note that among other things there will be a discussion around the establishment of the telecentre academy in Africa. As the point person within telecentre.org, not only I am glad to note this important step, but will endeavor to offer more information should you wish to connect with me on phone. I am available all day today, tomorrow and a part of Wednesday.
Should you wish to connect, I shall be happy to speak to you on phone. Please do not hesitate to contact me for my phone numbers and coordinates.
Warmest regards

Good question, Peter Mutesi, you have raised - " Will there be a chance for staff exchange at telecentre level or are you looking at only the networks. I would like to see what other telecentres look like and how they offer the services they offer. ?"
I join you in challenging the telecentre networks to plan and support telecentre managers/staff to learn more together and visit each others centres. telecentre.org has a specific program that could provide resources to networks interested in pursuing this activity.
What it takes is for telecentre staff to identify what they want learn - specific activity with clear outcome - and where they want to learn from. The host telecentres and visiting staff must develop a short plan – local exchanges are priority.
Telecentre networks will facilitate this undertaking with telecentre support for a short period of not more than 7 days. However we want to make sure that the telecentre community benefits as much from such staff exchanges therefore reporting and knowledge sharing is critical part of this program.
